Buildings generate nearly 40% of annual global CO2 emissions- of those total emissions building materials and construction are responsible for 11% of the global CO2 emissions annually. With the increasing demand for growth and development, the opportunity for innovation in the way we construct buildings is presented. Montemero runs as passive solar design with the goal of complete self-sufficiency. The Archology Lab constructs new builds on site using 3 principles- reuse, reduce, sequester. New projects include rammed earth build, the use of carbon negative aggregate and investigations on the potential applications of carbon negative biochar.
